Romania

Location: Eastern Europe

Language: Romanian and Hungarian

Population: 19 million

In my research on Romania I saw a lot of information about one group in particular - CHILDREN! Children in Romania are hurting. Child abuse is seen as normal in Romania, so families and authorities are abusing children and people are turning a blind eye.

Mafia gangs are fairly common in Romania and they are recruiting children and in turn giving money to their families. Poor families are desperate to overcome the deficit caused by the weak economy, so they will go to any length to survive - even allowing their child to go into slavery and trafficking.

Orphans, widows, and other Romanians struggle to find their way out of their circumstance. They live in areas where their access to education and health are compromised. These people have little hope for the future.

However, this country is covered with insanely beautiful castles, mountain ranges covered with snow, horse drawn buggies, herds of sheep wandering the land, and so much life! Romania is home to multiple Nobel Prize winners, world-renowned churches, and all of the hidden treasures!

Fun Fact: Transylvania (the city where Dracula apparently lives) is the name of an actual city in Romania! How fang-tastic?! HA ha

Please join me in praying for the people of Romania. These people are desperate for hope. Pray with me that we could show them the greatest hope of all - hope in eternal life with Jesus. Let's pray for God to start of a movement among the Romanians. Pray that God would plant us and use us so that His name would spread like wild fire.

Dear Jesus,

Romania is filled with beautiful mountains and animals and people, all created by you! Thank you for caring for the people of Romania and seeing their struggle. You hear their cries and you know their pain. Lord, send us to your people to point them to the ONE thing that will satisfy. They might long for shelter or food or family, but all of those things will fail them. None of those things can guarantee what you can. You are everything they need. Help us to pour out your love and grace to the Romanians. Let us love them in a way that leaves them undoubtedly knowing they have encountered your presence. May your name be glorified and exalted among ALL the people of Romania!

Amen.
