Hello friends!
I am off to Training Camp! I will be in Gainesville, GA for the next 10 days. I will be living out of my backpack, camping in my tent, taking cold outdoor showers, getting to know my squad mates, and getting prepared for the amazing things God has in store for me over the next year!
I am excited and terrified and anxious and all the things! My church in College Station (s/o to Declaration Church) has been challenging us to be Christians that are devoted to prayer. I have been praying relentlessly over the past couple weeks about Training Camp, and God has been so faithful in the peace and reassurance He has offered me. But I would love your support!
So, I ask that if I ever pop into your head over the next 10 days (it’s probably God telling you I need a quick prayer hehe) that you would just pray for me and my squad! These ten days will be challenging, but I know God will bring his glory from it. Here are some things I would love prayer for:
- that God would give me the physical and spiritual strength to not only survive these next ten days, but to thrive
- for the relationships I will make, that this week would be the beginning of God-honoring, deep and meaningful community
- that this will light a burning fire in my heart for this mission
- for encouragement when I am struggling or tired or uncomfortable (I have been warned that there are a lot of uncomfy moments)
I am expecting a lot of things from training camp. I am expecting these workouts to kick my butt. I am expecting some awesome worship. I was told there was going to be a fire, so I am hoping for s’mores (probably not gonna happen, but a girl can dream). I am expecting to be introduced to some new foods and activities that will be out of my comfort zone. I am expecting there to be a lot of surprises. I am expecting God to move in big ways. I am expecting to be stretched, and to experience growth even in this short time. Well, I guess only time will tell…
I can’t wait until I can come back and tell y’all just how accurate or crazy my expectations were!
Love y’all,
Em
